Transformers Arthropod Prologue

Bumblebee grumbled at Ratchet and sat up on the berth. "Doc, I can walk. There's no need for me to stay in the medbay."

"Trust me. You'll fall down, Bumblebee," The red and white mech gave him one last warning which the small mech ignored. He slid off the berth, but fell the moment he tried to stand. The Scout didn't give up and slowly stood on his feet again, wobbling back and forth trying to balance himself.

"Wh-why are my legs...messed up?"

"It's called 'digitgrade'. Your legs and feet changed to fit..whatever you transform in to now," Ratchet shrugged a little. "Some of us still have regular legs and feet. Some have digitgrades. Some have servos that have four digits and a thumb either with claws or without. Some have three digits, a thumb, and claws. It's all because our bodies changed and we need to get used to them."

"What...Do you mean our bodies changed?"

"As in our biology is different now," Ratchet grumbled, a little busy checking on Brawn and Ironhide. "We don't transform in to vehicles anymore. Because of that bomb Shockwave made, we changed in to Techno-Organics."

Bumblebee was afraid the medic would say that. But what exactly did they transform in to after they changed? The fumes from the bomb back on Cybertron knocked them out for quite some time, enough so they wouldn't know what happened to them.
"So...We probably transform in to...what?"

"That I'm still trying to figure out," Ratchet answered before getting distracted with examining Ironhide. Bumblebee still wanted answers, though, it was best not to bug the old medic about it. With his curiosity taking over, he got off his berth and tried transforming. Again, and again, and again, and again. His body would not transform after trying so many times. The determined Autobot never gave up and tried it one last time, transforming in to his alt mode which was...An actual bumblebee?
Ratchet, Brawn, and Ironhide stared at the oversize insect that was hovering in the medbay.

"....We're insects?" Brawn was surprised about that. He never knew that Cybertronians like themselves could transform in to Earth insects.

"Hey. Better than not transforming at all," Ironhide snickered only to get a punch on the arm from the smaller mech. Ratchet, on the other hand, was amused by the fact of them transforming in to these lifeforms, meaning it could have benefits.

"Bumblebee, think you can fly around here?" The medic asked, only to find out that the yellow and black Scout had troubles with flying. He had no knowledge about it, resulting in him slamming head first in to the steel wall. The old mech slammed his hand on his own face after watching that.

"Well...We're going to need flight training..."
